🚷 Assaults

Lagos : An official of the Lagos State Kick Against Indiscipline (KAI) was lucky to escape death after soldiers descended on him and beat him to stupor on the orders of senior military officers.

Advisory : This incident calls for an investigation into the abuse of power by military personnel. Inter-agency cooperation should be reinforced to prevent future clashes.

⚠️ Fraud

Federal Capital Territory : A civic organisation, Global Integrity Crusade Network (GICN), on Tuesday picketed the National Assembly complex in Abuja in protest against the alleged fraud, financial irregularities, massive corruption, amongst others levelled against Guaranty Trust Bank Limited, a subsidiary of Guaranty Trust Holding Company Plc (also known as GTCO PIC).

Advisory : The allegations should be investigated transparently, and the government must strengthen financial oversight in the banking sector to protect public trust.

🗣🙅 Labour Disputes

Federal Capital Territory : The Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria (PASAN), National Assembly chapter, is currently embroiled in a crisis following allegations of financial mismanagement amounting to about N3 billion.

Advisory : An internal audit is necessary to resolve the allegations, restore order, and maintain accountability within the union.

Transportation Accident

Lagos : At least 20 residents have been confirmed dead after two passenger boats capsized in Lagos on Monday night.

Advisory : There is an urgent need for stricter enforcement of safety regulations on waterways, including ensuring proper vessel maintenance and the availability of life jackets for passengers.
